Tad Pospisil
Runner-up finish in Prelude to the Silver Dollar Nationals at I-80
On Wednesday afternoon Tad Pospisil was one of 44 Malvern Bank Super Late Model Series entries registered in for action at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Neb.) for the Prelude to the Silver Dollar Nationals. Marching forward five spots in his heat, Tad picked up an 8-lap heat race victory, locking him into the third-starting position for the $5,300-to-win A-Main. Gaining one spot in the 40-lap affair, Pospisil scored a runner-up finish behind Tyler Bruening with Justin Kay, Cory Dumpert, and Andy Eckrich rounding out the Top-5. (Todd Boyd photo)
The following night for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Dirt Track Bank Go 50, Pospisil came short of a transfer position in his heat with a seventh place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Needing to place third or better to make the $12,000-to-win A-Main, Tad logged a sixth place outing.
For two rounds of heat races on Friday night, Tad followed up a fourth place finish in his first heat with a sixth place finish in his second round. Sitting in 21st overall in passing points, Pospisil transferred into the B-Main on Saturday afternoon for one final shot at the $53,000-to-win Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals.
Sending the Top 4 into show, Pospisil scored a runner-up finish behind Chris Ferguson, which positioned him 21st on the starting grid for the finale. He ended up retiring early from the 101-lap affair on lap 47.
Tad has taken over the lead in the latest Malvern Bank point standings. For more results from these events, please visit www.SLMRSeries.com and www.LucasDirt.com.
