Tad Pospisil wins Bob Maschmann Memorial at Knoxville
Tad Pospisil made the trek to Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday afternoon to pilot his Signor Trucking No. 04 Late Model for the 17th annual Knoxville Nationals presented by Brandt. In a stout field of 48 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Tad laid down the fourth fastest time in his qualifying group before placing sixth in his heat race. Scoring a third-place finish in his B-Main, Pospisil locked into the 23rd-starting position for the $7,000-to-win preliminary feature. Improving four spots in the 25-lap affair, Tad posted a 19th-place finish.
The following night, Pospisil’s sixth-place finish in his heat race relegated him into the B-Main. Needing to place third or better to make the show, Tad logged a fourth-place finish.
For the finale on Saturday, Tad was pulling double duty for the 17th annual Knoxville Nationals finale along with the Malvern Bank Series-sanctioned Bob Maschmann Memorial Invitational.
With passing points placing Tad 22nd on the starting grid for the $50,000-to-win main event, Pospisil was an early retiree from the 100-lapper on the 26th circuit.
In a field of 24 Malvern Bank Series entries, Tad jumped up one spot in his heat race to place fourth. Earning the second-starting position for the A-Main, Pospisil dominated the 22-lap affair to capture his ninth win of the season and a $4,000 payday. He finished ahead of Andy Eckrich, Bill Leighton Jr., Jake Neal, and Jason Hahne. (Todd Boyd photo)
