Tad Pospisil attends Silver Dollar Nationals at I-80
Defending his home turf against the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Tad Pospisil was one of 43 Late Models entered at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Neb.) on Tuesday evening to kick off five consecutive nights of racing. With passing points setting the grid for the preliminary feature, Tad secured his spot into the show with an eight-lap heat race win. He was slated to start the feature in 17th but the crew discovered engine issues before the start of the 30-lapper that prevented him from completing a lap. (Heath Lawson photo)
For another $7,000-to-win preliminary feature on Wednesday, Pospisil suffered a flat tire in his heat that dropped him back to a 11th. Starting near the tail of his B-Main, Tad logged a 10th-place outing.
With preliminary results from Tuesday and Wednesday setting the grid for the $30,000-to-win I-80 Nationals on Thursday, Tad gained two spots in his B-Main to finish second. Locked into the 21st-starting position for the show, Tadd faded two spots in the 53-lap affair to finish 23rd.
On Friday for a pair of heat races to get the 11th annual Imperial Tile Silver Dollar Nationals underway, Pospisil charged to an eight-lap victory in his first heat before placing 10th in his second round.
Transferring into the B-Main on Saturday afternoon, Tad secured his spot into the $53,000-to-win finale with a runner-up finish. Starting in 21st, Pospisil clawed forward three positions in the 80-lapper to register an 18th-place finish.
